Stunning Examples of Quilting at Crosstown Arts in Memphis TN

In the former Sears building on
Cleveland in Memphis, Tennessee in an area known as Crosstown,
we now have an exciting venue for the arts. It has been totally redeveloped and
it is hosting two shows featuring quilts at this time. Inside you’ll go up
some stairs or take the elevator to be able to check out this show. It’s called
Stitched. And one of the exibitions is International in scope and the other is
more regional. Crosstown Arts offers 7,000 square feet
of exhibition space for Contemporary Art in two galleries with a yearly roster of
10 shows for both memphis-based and visiting artists. The galleries are
free and open to the public. You can visit crosstownarts.org for
current and upcoming exhibition and opening events. This area is open Tuesday
through Friday 10:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturdays 10:00 to 6:00 and Sunday 12:00
to 6:00 p.m. These stitched and quilted works of art
are really amazing and they vary from the geometric to abstract to
representational. It’s a treat you would not want to miss.
Some of the quilts even look at our environment and comment on that subject. The address for Crosstown Arts is 1350
Concourse Avenue in Memphis , Tennessee. And the phone number is 901 507 8030.
